Been playing around on Logic Studio again and revisiting some of my earlier ideas and creations. Here is one I called Eastern Promises, done entirely in Logic Studio using virtual synths and some library voice samples. This was also a chance to try out the SoundCloud plugin for WordPress.

For many people, Bitly is simply an online service for shortening web links (URLs). Bitly is popular with Twitter users where the short links are essential in saving precious characters within tweets. Of course bitly links can be used anywhere to save space. The bitly service however offers a lot more uses than just link shortening. The following features are all available for free on bitly. Should you need there is a premium option, Bitly Enterprise. For a cool $995 a month the Enterprise version lets you manage multiple social media accounts and brand usage.

Previously I wrote about my experience of the Nokia E6 smartphone running the Symbian Anna operating system. You can read the post here in case you missed it. I owned the E6 for about three months before realising that support for Symbian was declining and it had not really matured enough as a platform for a device like the E6. I was disappointed given the E6 competitive pricing, sleek design, great battery life and maps feature but I couldn’t live with the frequent glitches, occasional stuttering when recording video and lack of applications. July 2011 was when I decided to ditch my Apple iPhone 4 and try something different. As I mainly text or email from my mobile, having a physical keyboard with tactile feedback appealed to me. After doing some extensive online research on Pay As You Go (PAYG), I eventually decided on the Nokia E6. On paper it ticked all the boxes, a quality physical keyboard, touchscreen, decent camera and build quality, extremely good battery life and built in maps.
